A matter of energy, matter and energy or just time.
To create something, you need energy and lot of time – to destroy you need seconds and in some cases you don’t need power as for destruction you can use the one accumulated in the system you intend to destroy. Having in mind that many people are scared of so called “Mayan apocalypse” – the conclusion of the 5,125-year “Long Count” Mayan calendar, it is strange why there aren’t such worries about “Industrial apocalypse”?
Our life was granted probably by chance or reason beyond our senses. Billions of years were needed to complete the level of Mayan civilization. Thousands more were needed to reach the level of Industrialization. And few decades to reach the level where total annihilation is possible by pressing a button. And now back to the top – our existence is a result of a time, matter and energy; our life – the one we live today – with cars, planes, nuclear plants and weapons, industry, renewable energy and fossils, different countries, colors, languages and billions and billions of other aspects is a result of rational or not so rational use of that time, matter and energy. We’ve created a system due to these valuable resources and we can loose it in few seconds if we do not set the equilibrium in it. If in the line of time the period of creation is a year, our Industrial existence is just few seconds. And we are trying to ruin everything by using the energy accumulated through the year. In this last second we’re pressing the trigger of annihilation. Energy matters after all.
